A record 41 Nebraska-based companies made the 2024 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private firms in the U.S., continuing a trend of steady growth from previous years (34 in 2022, 32 in 2021, and 25 in 2020).

Summit Medical Staffing of Fremont led all Nebraska companies, ranking 24th overall with a massive 12,053% revenue growth over three years — the highest-ever ranking for a Nebraska firm on the list. Summit has now made the list three years in a row and was the state's fastest-growing company for the second straight year.

Hilgers Graben, a Lincoln-based law firm founded by Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers, was the top Lincoln company, ranking 637th with 916% growth, and making its fifth appearance on the list.

Lincoln had a strong showing overall, with nine companies featured — the most since the list expanded in 2007. Notable Lincoln companies and their rankings/growth include:
